No your eyes aren’t deceiving you and no we haven’t travelled back to 2008. Starting its life as an Ideas submission by fan designer Nick Micheels (aka LobsterThermidor), 21354 – Twilight The Cullen House is Lego’s latest Ideas set.
The set features 2001 pieces and comes packed with 7 Minifigures. The primary focus of the set is clearly the Cullen House, but also included is Bella’s red truck, and a brick-built version of Jacob in his wolf form.
The set is due to be released February 1st for Lego Insiders (4th February for everyone else). Costing £189.99 / $219.99 / €219,99
The Minifigures included are Bella Swan, Edward Cullen (with dual-printed sparkle effect head), Jacob Black, Carlisle Cullen, Alice Cullen, Charlie Swan and Rosalie Hale.
Sadly the set doesn’t include Emmet, Esme or Jasper – which personally I think is an oversight. It’s unlikely that Lego will release another Twilight set anytime soon, so its a little disappointing not having the entire Cullen family.
What 21354 Twilight The Cullen House lacks in Minifigures, it more than makes up with detail!
The house follows the movie closely and features all the main rooms.
These include the living room, kitchen, bathroom and (of course) Edward’s bedroom.
The house is built in Lego’s typical modular style. Each floor is removable for easy Minifigure access!
The set is clearly aimed at Twilight fans and the images from Lego.com recreate many iconic Twilight scenes! (Even the infamous “hold tight, spider monkey” scene – see the box art!)
The Cullen’s house is based on the famous ‘Hoke House’ – an award winning Portland house.
Team Jacob fans will be happy to see Jacob appearing twice in 21354 Twilight The Cullen House. Appearing in both Human (Minifigure) and Wolf (Brick-built) forms.
The house measures over 21 cm (8.5 in.) high, 37 cm (14.5 in.) wide and 18 cm (7 in.) deep and makes an impressive architecture build – regardless of any Vampiric associations!
