Whilst only becoming a stand-alone theme recently, Lego ART has once again expanded to include another artistic masterpiece!
31215 – Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers has a whopping 2,615 pieces and is set to cost £169.99 / $199.99 / €199,99. That’s around 6.5p per piece!
Pre-orders are open now but you’ll have to wait until March 1st for your order to ship. March 1st is also when you’ll find this set in stores – including the Van Gogh Museum’s shop!
The iconic painting has been beautifully rendered in 3D. The brick-built rendition captures Vincent’s genius use of colour but utilizing several shades of yellow. The set takes you all the way from pale tan, through yellow, to dark brown.
31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers also features a printed tile bearing Vincent’s famous signature.
The set’s 2,615 pieces come together to make a display that measures over 21 in. (54 cm) high, 16 in. (41 cm) wide and 2 in. (5 cm) deep.
The set was designed by Stijn Oom plus Art Creative Lead Fiorella Groves. They were able to get such a great likeness thanks to help from the Van Gogh Museum, who loaned them a to-scale replica of the original painting!
As with Lego’s other ART sets – 31215 Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers also comes with a hook piece, allowing you to easily hang the set on your wall.
To celebrate the launch (March 1st) Lego has created two full-sized renditions of the painting. These will be displayed in the Amsterdam Lego Store, and the Van Gogh Museum.
Local fans can even get their new set signed by the designer (Stijn Oom). He will be visiting the Amsterdam Lego store on March 1st, and the Marseilles Lego Store on March 2nd!
