Lego announces Minecraft live-action Movie sets

Lego has officially announced two new Lego Minecraft sets, based on the upcoming Minecraft Movie. Both are due to be released on March 1st – roughly a month before the release of the movie.

The two new sets are:

Both these sets are likely taken from scenes in the Minecraft Movie. They also sport a different style to Lego’s usual Minecraft sets – including human Minifigures, and smoother printed graphics.

21272 – Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring – £44.99 / $49.99 / €49,99

The first of the new sets is 21272 – Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring. This set comes with 491 pieces and 4 Minifigures. Also included is a brick-built chicken jockey, a posable great hog, and a whole heap of accessories.

The Minifigures include Henry, Garrett (Jason Momoa), Steve (Jack Black), and a baby zombie. I believe this is the first Lego baby zombie in Minifigure form – previous baby zombies have been closer to ‘Microfigure’ scale.

Compared to a regular Lego Minecraft zombie, you can really tell the difference in detail. The Movie inspired sets have definitely moved away from Minecraft’s pixel aesthetic towards a more realistic style.
This is definitely a ‘love it or hate it’ switch-up!

21273 – The Ghast Balloon Village Attack – £59.99 / $69.99 / €69,99

Also releasing on March 1st is 21273 – The Ghast Balloon Village Attack

This set comes with 555 pieces and 6 Minifigures. The set also builds an Iron Golem and a Ghast.

This set features 6 Minifigures including: a Villager, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and two Piglins.

What are your thoughts on the new Lego Minecraft sets? Are you excited to see the new Minecraft Movie?

Both sets are coming soon on 1st March 2025

21272 – Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring – £44.99 / $49.99 / €49,99
21273 – The Ghast Balloon Village Attack – £59.99 / $69.99 / €69,99
