40819 Racing Driver joins Lego’s roster of Up-Scaled Minifigures

Coming soon on March 1st is Lego’s latest Up-Scaled Minifigure. 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver Minifigure is clearly referencing retro Lego Town racing sets, but the red hips, and torso details give it a modern appearance.

The set comes with 694 pieces and stands an impressive 9.5 in. (25 cm) tall!

Those looking to pick up 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver will have to spend £46.99 / $54.99 / €54,99. This is roughly $5 more than 2023’s 40649 Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure.

However, when comparing to Lego’s previous Up-Scaled Minifigure, something is conspicuously absent. The accompanying (regular-sized) Minifigure!

Lego has hinted in their description that the set “[has] a hidden Easter egg under the helmet”. This could be an illusion to a Minifigure, although, I think it’s more likely that there is a small build hidden instead.

Despite the seeming lack of Minifigure – Lego has definitely upped their game with 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver. The red and green colours contrast beautifully and the decorated torso adds heaps of detail.

The build is fully posable including a moving head, hands, arms, and legs! The moving elements help make this set more play friendly and dynamic to display.

Available from March 1st – 40819 Up-Scaled Racing Driver – £46.99 / $54.99 / €54,99
