Releasing in 2025 LEGO City 60447 Off-Road Mountain Truck joins the long list of LEGO vehicles. This set plugs the off-road vehicle gap that was left since last year’s Jungle Explorer sets. The sandy green and orange colour scheme is the biggest distinction compared to those great builds.
With 2025 focusing on Polar Explorer sets – fans of LEGO ‘outdoors’ sets have been limited in their choice. That’s where 60447 Off-Road Mountain Truck comes in.
So how does it stand up? Read our full review below breaking down the unboxing and building experience.

The set comes with four new-style paper bags, instructions, and a small sheet of stickers. The box art is nice and dynamic, showcasing all the set’s accessories and play features.

The paper bags fit very snugly in the box with zero clearance and it was quite satisfying opening it up and sliding them out. Alongside the bag there were two loose 2×14 plates.
Bag 1

Bag 1 built the truck’s foundations. It is a fairly straight-forward build and follows the formula that lots of LEGO vehicles use. A long and flat foundation of plates with axle parts on either end.

The first bag also builds our truck driver and explorer.
The minifigure works well although none of the parts are new. The printed torso has been used several times before (like in 2024’s Jungle Explorer sets).
The head piece is only printed on one side. It would have been nice to have a dual printed head – although this is uncommon for small LEGO City sets.
The minifigure comes with a camera and unique printed map tile.
Bag 2
The second bag continues with building the mountain truck and features the first stickers of the build.

By this point the sandy green and orange colour scheme is starting to show and the truck’s tow-hook has been attached. The LEGO string element came nicely packaged to avoid any knots or tangles. It’s small things like this, that make LEGO such a joy to build.
The truck’s tow-hook is fully accessible and works perfectly and is a overall great play feature. The truck engine makes use of 1×1 curved grey bricks and the steering wheel is the standard LEGO piece
Bag 3
The third bag continues working on truck building out the rest of the body. The engine is covered with a working hood – which is actually a unique part to this set (in sand green).
The windscreen part came a little scratched which is disappointing, however, it’s barely noticeable unless looking up close, or shooting with a 4K camera (guilty!).

This bag introduces one of the main play features of the build. You can pull down on the exhaust stack and a small lever opens the hood of the truck!
It’s impressive that the set designers have managed to squeeze such a feature into a minifigure scale build. This small addition adds so much to the playability of the build.
Bag 4 – Final
Last but certainly not least is bag 4. This final bag built the accessory laden roof of the truck, plus finally attached the wheels.

60447 Off-Road Mountain Truck comes replete with accessories including a shovel, banana, wrench, compass, first-aid kit, and a flash-light. The back of the truck utilises a sticker to create a removable sleeping bag tile.

The picture (left) shows the effect of pulling the exhaust stack. A carefully hidden lever pops open the hood revealing a suitably detailed engine.
The roof of the truck can also be easily removed to allow for minifigure access, storing accessories, or in this case, taking a close-up photo of the printed dashboard piece.
Overall the truck fits minifigure scale perfectly and the designers have managed to cram the set with accessories and features. 60447 Off-Road Mountain Truck works great as a stand alone set or with other LEGO City Explorer sets.
Whilst the minifigure is nothing new and relies on existing parts – it is nice to see LEGO expand their sand-green parts usage.
