LEGO Announces new Decepticon Transformer – 10358 Soundwave

,

The LEGO Group has unveiled its latest addition to the Transformer line. 10358 Transformers: Soundwave joins Optimus Prime and Bumblebee as the first LEGO Decepticon. Fans have wanted a LEGO Decepticon since the release of the first LEGO Transformer, and have enjoyed speculating on who it should be.
Megatron was a clearly popular but it’s I’m sure fans will also be happy to receive a generation 1 Soundwave.

Releasing early to LEGO Insiders on 1st August 2025, Transformers: Soundwave is a 1505 piece, brick-built transformer. The set is inspired by Soundwave’s generation 1 design and has a clean vintage aesthetic.

Those looking to pick-up Soundwave will be expected to pay £159.99 / $189.99 / €179,99. There doesn’t appear to be any ‘day one’ extras – Although the price-tag is enough to hit LEGO’s general gift with purchase amount (E.g. over £135 for African Savanna Diorama)

The LEGO Group has provided a great short video showcasing 10358 Transformers: Soundwave’s play features and ability to transform!

Soundwave transforms into a vintage cassette player along with his trusted companions Ravage and Laserbeak (Who transform into insertable cassettes!)

Soundwave also comes with an info plaque, although sadly it looks like a sticker rather than being printed.

Soundwave also features a LEGO sound brick that plays six different classic voice lines. Alongside some printed elements, like the Decepticon logo, the sound brick helps explain why Soundwave is the most expensive transformer yet.

Soundwave fits perfectly with the LEGO Group’s two previous Transformers: 10302 Optimus Prime (Left) and 10338 Bumblebee (Right).

The box art features the classic Transformers written logo and showcases Soundwave’s transforming abilities.

10358 Transformers: Soundwave releases 1st August 2025 costing £159.99 / $189.99 / €179,99
