It’s quite easy to forget that LEGO’s website has an ‘Other’ section. It doesn’t show up when you search through LEGO’s themes and it doesn’t even appear to have it’s own logo. It’s no wonder that Lego fans often overlook this space.
However, despite being a collection of Lego’s one-off projects, clothing, and accessories, there are some hidden gems to be found! In total the theme currently lists over 200 products as being in stock (in 2025). I’ve waded through the water-bottles, and over-priced home decor, to present LEGO’s top five ‘Other’ sets.
5. 80117 – Good Fortune
First on the list is 80117 – Good Fortune. This set is a part of the Chinese Traditional Festival subtheme, although I likely didn’t need to tell you. Typically retailing at £69.99 / $89.99 / €79,99 this 1021 piece set is decent value for money at 6.9p / 8.8c / 7.8c per brick. Additionally it’s quite often on sale outside of the Chinese festival seasons.

The set collects several iconic objects that symbolise love, good health, prosperity and joy – from the traditional fan featuring two magpies, to the painted vase replete with fortune red fruit.

The fan can be built in two different ways, as seen on the box art. The objects can be displayed together or separately so you could always use the beautiful vase for non-seasonal LEGO flowers.
4. 40650 – Land Rover Classic Defender
Moving from the most expensive set on this list so the cheapest, we have 40650 Land Rover Classic Defender. This cute 150 piece set comes with one minifigure celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Land Rover Classic Defender.

There’s not too much to say about this set. The £13.49 / $14.99 / €14,99 price tag seems about right for LEGO’s standards and the build is high quality. The designers have done a great job at getting the minifigure scale correct and whilst there aren’t really any play features – the set is a great addition to any LEGO City.

3. 40516 – Everyone is Awesome
Next we have possibly LEGO’s most colourful set. 40516 Everyone Is Awesome is a celebration of the diversity of humanity visually recreated in LEGO form. If that isn’t reason enough to love this set, it also comes with several unique or rare minifigure pieces. Great for adding more colour and customisation into your LEGO worlds!

40516 Everyone Is Awesome is currently retailing for £30.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 which isn’t the cheapest for only 346 pieces. In the end it all comes down to your love for minifigures (doesn’t it always).
2. 40719 – Traditional Chess Set
Despite the name, 40719 Traditional Chess Set is actually a two in one set that lets you place both Chess or Checkers. This is a great way at getting younger LEGO fans into Chess. Collectors looking to pick-up this 743 piece set will have to pay £64.99 / $74.99 / €74,99.

Looking through the instructions it seems like all the Chess pieces are built using LEGO bar pieces. So whilst the decorative pieces look dainty they should be able to stand up to the rigour of a blitz chess match.

1. 40805 – Arcade Machine
Last but certainly not least, my top pick is 40805 Arcade Machine. This retro build shouldn’t be overlooked. Coming in at 468 pieces and retailing for £34.99 / $39.99 / €39,99 this set also comes with a minifigure and a host of detailed accessories.

The main build recreates an iconic retro arcade machine replete with a pixel-art screen and a fitting “SPACE” title. The whole aesthetic is straight out of the 80’s and will likely feel nostalgic to those who spent their hard-earned pocket-money playing Space Invaders, Defenders, Pac-Man and other classics.
If that wasn’t enough, the build also opens up to reveal a detailed gamer room, including a mini arcade machine, computer, and sofa – enough space to safely store the included minifigure.

Honourable Mention. 5006906 – LEGO® Brick Playing Cards
I know it’s not a LEGO set with bricks but no cheating, did you know that LEGO makes playing cards? With 5006906 you not only get Lego themed playing cards, you also get two decks.

Coming in at £14.99 / €16,99 these card packs are definitely on the more expensive end. However it’s not uncommon to pay over £7 for premium card decks with Bicycle cards often running over £10 a deck.

It is a shame that only the picture cards make reference to LEGO, however, the included keepsake box is a nice touch and helps protect the cards.
How many of these sets did you know? Top marks if you own any too!
