Barad-dûr™ – No. 10333 – £399.99
The one Lord of The Rings Lego set to rule them all! Coming in at 5,471 pieces and 10 Minifigures The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr™ truly lives up to its ICONS theme.

For nearly four hundred pounds, you get a frankly massive set. One of the tallest Lego sets ever produced – standing at a height of 83 cm! Finding a spot for this set is going to be a struggle, but for those with the space, it’s definitely a show-stopper.
Lord of The Rings has been rather unloved by Lego as of late, with many fans feeling that the beloved franchise deserves more attention and creativity in the form of unique sets, characters, and builds. However, for the serious collector, the prospect of earning double points on this set will certainly help them stomach the price. Ultimately, it’s a chance to celebrate the epic world of Middle-earth while stacking up those valuable points for future purchases.

The set has plenty of small scenic moments that all come together to make it greater than the sum of its parts.
Whilst the set is undoubtedly gorgeous the inclusion of only 10 Minifigures (No the skeleton doesn’t count!) seems a little low to me. The comparably priced Rivendell set (£429.99) contains nearly 700 extra pieces and five additional minifigs all for around £30 more.

With that being said the Minifigures all look great and this is the only set currently being sold that contains Sauron – Alongside unique Frodo and Samwise prints.

The set is chock-full of play features and opportunities for scene creation (like the example from Lego above), providing endless possibilities for imaginative play. All the floors are modular and can easily be separated for ease of play, allowing builders to customize their creations and rearrange different Minifigures as they see fit, adding a dynamic element to each play session. This versatility not only enhances the overall play experience but also encourages collaborative building, despite being an 18+ set.
RIVENDELL™ – No. 10316- £429.99
With a whopping 6,167 pieces, Lego Icons – The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell is one of Lego’s top 10 biggest sets to date. This iconic set marks the location where the Quest of the Ring began. Measuring over 39 cm (15 in.) high, 72 cm (28.5 in.) wide, and 50 cm (19.5 in.) deep – this is certainly a giant set!

Filled with 15 exclusive character Minifigures (not including the 6 Elven statue Minifigures), this set lets you collect the entire fellowship of the ring in one fell swoop. Truly a dream set for any LEGO or Lord of the Rings enthusiast.
You’re able to recreate some of your favorite scenes due to the detailed décor – including Frodo’s bedroom and Elrond’s study, both of which are immersive and intricately designed to reflect the rich lore of Middle-earth. Each section of the model can be detached and displayed or played with separately, allowing for endless creativity and storytelling opportunities, bringing beloved characters and iconic moments to life in their own unique way.

Did I mention that the set comes with 15 Minifigures, including the legendary characters of Frodo, Sam, Bilbo Baggins, Boromir, Gimli, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf the Grey?

With double points on the table now is the time to pick up this iconic piece of Middle-Earth.
Legolas & Gimli™ – No. 40751- £17.99
Even BrickHeadz sets are included in the double points offer. With all the Lord of The Rings BrickHeadz set to retire at the end of 2024 now is a good time to pick up these affordable sets.

Coming in at 297 pieces and a price per piece of £0.06 Lego set 40751 Legolas & Gimli is a great addition to any budding BrickHeadz collection. Legolas is instantly recognisable with his blond hair, bow, and arrow. The Gimli build is a little more generic and passes as a fairly generic dwarf, however his double-headed battle-axe and crested helm do help him stand out somewhat.
Frodo™ & Gollum™ – No. 40630- £13.49
Perhaps two of the most iconic Lord of The Rings characters. Set number 40630 – Frodo & Gollum would make an iconic addition to any collector’s shelf.

As with Legolas I think one build shines brighter than the other. Frodo is great looking with his green traveller’s cloak and comes readily equipped with Sting and the one ring (My precious!). Admittedly Gollum is a little harder to transform into a BrickHeadz – his hunched back and thin body don’t translate well to the chibi oversized style. Still I think it’s easy to see which character the build is meant to be.
Both the builds are on the smaller size with the set only coming to a total of 184 pieces. Thankfully this is reflected in the reduced price of £13.49 / $14.99 / €14.99 compared to the other Lord of The Ring’s BrickHeadz (£17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 )
Gandalf the Grey™ & Balrog™ – No. 40631- £17.99
Alongside Bilbo and Frodo, Gandalf is who I immediately think of when someone mentions Lord of The Rings. In Lego set 40631 Gandalf the Grey & Balrog, he’s pitted against a rather cute rendition of his famous advisory.

Both the builds in this set are spectacular and instantly recognisable. Gandalf comes with a brick-built hat, staff, and sword. The Balrog even comes with a fiery red whip piece! (Iconic – watch your ankles).
The Balrog’s brick-build wings and horns help bring this set’s piece count to just shy of 350. It’s nice to see that Lego haven’t increased the price of this set compared to the other BrickHeadz. It’s currently retailing on Lego.com for £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99. Remember all the LoTR sets are Lego exclusives so you’ll be hard pressed to find this set outside of official Lego stores.
As with the other BrickHeadz this set looks to retire at the end of 2024 so if you want to pick it up now is the best chance.
Aragorn™ & Arwen™- No. 40632 – £17.99
This set makes the perfect treat, birthday present, or holiday gift for The Lord of the Rings fans and BrickHeadz collectors alike.
Aragorn is looking very regal, presented in his king outfit with crown and sword. The builds are based on the wedding scene from The Return of the King as Arwen is wearing a brick-build green wedding dress and tiara.

Whilst not first on my list of Lord of The Rings sets, adding another BrickHeadz set to the cart can’t hurt, Right?
At least with double points on all these sets I can sleep a little easier at night (and a little lighter).
On a side note there have been a few rumours recently about a wave of new Lord of The Rings sets coming out in 2025! So now is the perfect chance to stock up on points, and cash in those discounts or gift with purchases when purchasing those 2025 sets. Happy Collecting!
