Surely its not too early to be thinking of Christmas?! The answer is a definitive no from Lego, who have announced their new Winter Village sets – Lego Icons 10339 Santa’s Post Office and Lego set 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck. Both sets are set to be released in October.
The October 4th release of Santa’s post office (Oct-1st for Lego Insiders!) marks this year’s addition to Lego’s annual Winter Village sets. As is unfortunately the case with Lego this also means saying good-bye to 2022’s release (Set no. 10308 – Holiday Main Street – £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99). The set is marked as retiring soon by Lego and will most likely leave stores by the end of the year.

For those looking to start their Winter Village, Set no. 10325 Alpine Lodge looks to be staying this year, with a likely retirement at the end of 2025. I’d Recommend picking up 2022’s Holiday Main Street before it retires.
Lego Icons 10339 – Santa’s Post Office – £89.99
“Embark on a magical journey with the LEGO® Icons Santa’s Post Office (10339) Christmas home décor building kit. This delightful addition to the Winter Village Collection is packed with enchanting details and offers builds suitable for both kids and adults, making it an ideal choice for a memorable family building project.” – Lego.com

Releasing on the 4th of October, exclusively to Lego stores and Lego.com – Santa’s Post Office comes in at 1,440 pieces and retails for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99. The set includes one Santa and four Elves for a total of five Minifigures. This seems on par with previous Winter Village sets which tend to have around 1,500 pieces and five or six Minifigures.

Additionally the set comes with a gorgeous gold, green, and red hot air balloon comprised of some very unique looking curved parts. (Let me know if the balloon parts are new exclusives!).
Of course every hot air balloon needs a pilot so its lucky one of the elves come equipped wit a pilot’s hat and goggles.
The balloon also features a workable post collector that can be tipped to send all the printed post tiles down the Post Office chute to be sorted!
Presumably the elves are working a naughty / nice system with the post being sorted into either a red bin or a green bin. (Fingers crossed!).

Those with a keep eye have no doubt already spotted the “Batteries included” tag on the set’s box. Like last year’s set (No. 10325 Alpine Lodge) this year’s Winter Village release also contains a Light-Brick – incorporated in the hot air balloon. “Press the top of the hot-air balloon to illuminate its burner“.

I think this is a great, festive, addition to the Winter Village line and a set that I’ll definitely have on my Christmas list (Hopefully this year I’ve been nice!).
Lego 40746 – Santa’s Delivery Truck – £17.99
Lego is also releasing a smaller, nifty companion set to Santa’s Post Office – Set no. 40746 Santa’s Delivery Truck.

The set is expected to hit shelves on the 1st of October with a retail price of £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99. According to Lego.com the set contains 224 pieces and looks to include one older Elf Minifigure.
The set is full of fun play features including multiple brick build presents and a mini, detachable Christmas tree. Furthermore, the truck includes a postage sack which can be removed and worn by our Elf Minifigure.

Set no. 40746 makes a great stocking filler (Or small St Nicholas Day gift!). Receiving an age rating of 8+ this set can be build with / by kids while Santa’s Post Office is 18+ and for older Lego enthusiasts.

Combine multiple Winter Village sets to create a truly magical winter scene!
