Coming soon on the 4th June 2025 is the LEGO Group’s latest IDEAS set – 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine!
Starting off as LEGO Fan submission the new Minifigure Vending Machine is set to contain a whopping 16(!) minifigures including references to Castle, Classic Space, and LEGO City.
Standing 28cm (12 inches) tall, the vending machine build invokes the nostalgia of classic vintage design. The form should be highly recognisable to anyone who’s been in a shopping centre / mall.
comprised of 1,343 pieces and set to cost £149.99 / $179.99 / €169,99 the set will be releasing early to LEGO Insiders on the 1st June 2025.
Whilst the vending machine build is great and is fully functional, it is the minifigures that’ll really sell this set.
21358 Minifigure Vending Machine comes packed with 16! new minifigures. It’s rare for LEGO sets to reach double digit minifigure quantities – unless they’re collector sets with an equally high price tag.
16 minifigures is more minifigures than you get in the modern collectible minifigure series with series 21 making the switch from 16 to 12 in 2021.
Although it’s not the best quality – in the LEGO promotional video you can see all 16 minifigures lined up. The figures pay homage to many iconic LEGO themes, including, Castle, Classic Space, Pirates, Fabuland, and even Paradisa. Also included is a minifigure rendition of the original fan designer.
LEGO Fans were able to vote on some of the included minifigures and settled on the new teal Spaceman and the new Kraken knight.
If we were to price the minifigures at collectible minifigure prices (£3.49) then the total would equal £55.84 or over a third of the £149.99 price-tag.
The set designers have done a great job on the functionality of the set. Each minifigure comes with a small capsule that is large enough to house the disassembled minifigure. The vending machine build is also large enough to house all the capsules and features a working ‘vend’ function. You simply twist the handle on the front and a minifigure capsule should dispense!
