It would be understandable for LEGO fans to have forgotten that last August LEGO announced a multi-year partnership with Nike. Since the announcement both parties have been fairly quiet. Whilst there have been the usual rumors – we finally have a first proper look at the first LEGO X Nike product!

A pair of yellow LEGO X Nike Air Max Dn have surfaced on several news sites and even on X (Twitter).
The bright yellow sneakers heavily feature LEGO references. Including the LEGO logo to the studs covering the upper-part of the shoes.
The sneakers are expected to cost around $160 (US Dollars) – Likely around £120 for UK buyers.
That makes these LEGO items a steep $80 per piece! All jokes aside the shoes definitely command a luxury price-tag. It’s likely that they will be ‘collected’ rather than bought and worn.

If you look closely you can even spot a combined LEGO X Nike Logo. A Nike swoosh with a LEGO brick on top.
The shoes are a part of Nike’s Air Max Dn range which isn’t as popular or famous as Nike’s other lines like the Air Max 1s. Perhaps Nike is testing the waters before fully committing.

The LEGO X Nike Logo is present on the back of the shoes too. Here it’s a more noticeable black colour.

The sneakers also feature more small LEGO references in the Air Bubbles, including a LEGO stud, and a classic smiley LEGO minifigure head.

There also appears to be a small three-eyed alien printed onto one of the Air bubbles. Perhaps this is a Nike reference somehow. It doesn’t appear immediately obvious how the cute character relates to the LEGO Group. If you know, tell us in the comments below!

The sneakers will come packed in a fairly plan Nike shoebox. There was definitely scope to do more here and make the collaboration more obvious and eye catching.
On a positive note the box will include an insert that turns it into six compartments. Perfect for storing loose LEGO bricks or wayward minifigures!

As a LEGO Fan it’s nice to see the LEGO Group collaborating with more companies. This gives fans with multiple interests the possibility of combining them. However, for non sneaker-heads (collectors of sneaker shoes) it will be interesting to see how popular these are.
The bright yellow is a powerful choice that might put off more casual shoppers. Additionally, the price is quite high when compared to regular sneakers.
If online comments are to be believed, so far the reception has been mixed.
What do you think of the LEGO X Nike collaboration? Will you be picking up a pair of the sneakers? Let us know in the comments below!
