Lego’s New Botanical Garden Set: Release Details & Exclusive Offers

,

Releasing early to Lego insiders on the 1st of November Lego’s latest Ideas set has finally been added to Lego.com – costing £289.99 / $329.99 / €329,99 and coming with an exclusive gift with purchase for day one buyers! The set includes 12 unique Minifigures and sits comfortably on two standard baseplates giving the set a large 64 brick by 32 brick footprint! The set comes with 3,792 pieces and includes 9 never before seen Lego elements!

The set originated as a Lego Ideas submission by fan designer Valentina Bima. Lego Idea submissions that receive 10,000 supports are reviewed by Lego and can be turned into official sets. Once picked up by Lego the set goes through internal design and development and often changes in the process. Below is the approved Lego Ideas submission.

We can see that the original design has been altered somewhat, becoming slightly shorter and wider.
However, all the key points are still there: from the huge Victorian glass windows to the white marble pillars.

This show-stopper of a build is due to contain 35 unique species of brick-built plants! Such an array of flora even required the inclusion of some never before seen Lego Elements. The build includes 9 new unique Lego elements shown below!

The Botanical Garden also includes 12 unique, and suitably garden themed, Minifigures. Included are 4 members of staff (The Manager, 2 Gardeners, and a Barista); several Visitors; a Dog; a Squirrel; a Bunny; 4 Bird figures; and even a Beetle element!

Those looking to pick up the set day one can expect a sweet extra with their order! When purchasing on November 1st you should receive Gift with Purchase no. 5009005 – Entrance Gate.

The GWP is suitably plant themed and the Minifigure matches nicely with the other Botanical Gardeners. I have to say I’m a fan of the brown overalls and green top! The Minifigure’s red cap and tool-box also provide a nice contrasting colour to the green elements.

The back of the box provides some amazing stills and Lego photography. There’s also a demonstration of the build’s modularity. The roof of each section can be easily removed for Minifigure posing and play access.

Parts of the wall can also be taken off. This is a great design choice as the build could be a little claustrophobic for those wanting to play with or pose their Minifigures.
Despite the modular nature of the build, there don’t appear to be any connective elements to attach this set to your other Modular buildings. Modular fans will have to get a little creative if they want to include this set in their Modular lineup.

Whilst the set is truly gorgeous it does come with quite a heft price-tag. Fans looking to buy the set will have to pay £289.99 / $329.99 / €329,99. When compared to a similar build, namely the Natural History Museum (£259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99) , the price does seem quite steep. 10326 – The Natural History Museum (Released 2023) contains over 222 extra pieces compared to The Botanical Garden (4014 pieces vs 3792).
That being said The Botanical Garden does come with 12 Minifigures vs the History Museum’s 7.

Coming in at 3,792 pieces – 21353 The Botanical Garden is Lego’s latest Ideas release. The 18+ set costs ££289.99 / $329.99 / €329,99.
