After days of being leaked on social media, Lego has finally officially announced a new X-Men set. The X-Mansion or set number 76294 is the latest Lego product to hit the Marvel theme. The set is due to drop November 1st for Lego Insiders (Nov-4 for everyone else).
Just like with last year’s large Marvel set (76269 Avengers Tower) this set comes with an exclusive day one gift with purchase! Those buying the set on day one can hope to receive 6546714 Cerebro. A small 153 piece companion build.

As for as Gift with purchases go, I think Cerebro is quite an enticing offer with the printed / stickered tile and Minifigure only making the gift better. For those that miss out on the GWP don’t worry the Xavier Minifigure isn’t exclusive and can be built with pre-existing pieces.

The X-Mansion is comprised of 3,093 pieces and comes with 10 X-Men Minifigures. The Minifigures included are: Professor X, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Iceman, Bishop and Magneto!
This is the first time we’re seeing Gambit, Bishop and Iceman in Lego Minifigure form. Whilst we have seen a Minifigure Jean Grey before – she was only available as a very rare 2012 San Diego Comic Con exclusive figure. Its great that the set is giving us so many of our favourite mutants!

The set is clearly designed for Adult enthusiasts and boasts an 18+ age rating. As with a lot of Lego’s adult focused products – the set costs triple digits. Fans wanting to pick up the Xavier Institute (aka X-Mansion) are required to pay £289.99 / $329.99 / €329,99.
Whilst not the cheapest – the set is priced in line with Lego’s recent modular buildings and speaking of modular…

The set is fully modular with the ability to take off the roof, and each floor of the build. However, the X-Mansion goes even further and can be split into three sections allowing for easy access to the interior elements. I have to say I’m enjoying how most of Lego’s larger builds tend to be modular these days. The set can be linked up with 76269 Avengers Tower, 76178 Daily Bugle, and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum for those interested in creating a whole marvel street!

The inside of the build is jam-packed with X-Men interior references.
From bedrooms, to the Library, to the danger room, to Professor X’s iconic Cerebro invention. Lego set no. 76294 The X-Mansion includes it all.

Alongside the iconic X-Men line-up is a brick-built Sentinel figure

I think the pictures can fail to do this set justice as it’s truly huge – measuring over 27 cm (10.5 in.) high, 40 cm (16 in.) wide and 25 cm (10 in.) deep.
Alongside play features like the sliding interactive whiteboard, and a rooftop that can be destroyed via a switch – the set comes with several pieces designed to assist in displayed the set. We can see from Lego’s pictures that the set includes several clear elements that give the Minifigures a dynamic pose and a sense of movement.
Releasing November 1st to Lego insiders set number 76294 – X-Men: The X-Mansion is Lego’s latest homage to the X-Men franchise.
